Research in this NIH-funded Center for Wound Healing and Injury Research is focused on the molecular, cellular, pre-clinical and clinical biology of injury. Because of our multidisciplinary approach, location on the campus of the Hillcrest Medical Center and drug development experience, we focus all of our work on translating fundamental discoveries at the bench-side from "molecules to man". We complement our research activities by faculty participation in the UCSD Injury Prevention Epidemiology Research Center which supports research from “man to community”. Together, we seek to improve the natural course of injury through the discovery of improved therapeutics, evidence-based clinical care and injury prevention.
